On Forgiveness

​Life is full of so many emotions   joy, sadness,  love, vulnerability  and... anger. We are taught how to read and do math in school, however forgiveness is not on the curriculum.
 
Some anger  starts inside of us, we deal with its  and goes out, it is healthy and  normal.  However some of it just lingers and  we live with it for years. Consciously or unconsciously, we make decisions from the place of anger and   in a way it runs our life. 
 
A Buddhist teaching says that  holding to anger, you are similar to a man who wants to hit another and picks up a burning ember, he  burns himself first. 
 
There is an easy way to forgive and to let go of the  anger. It is Hawaiian healing process called ho'oponopono. 
Hold person or event that makes you angry in your thoughts and say:
 
I am sorry,
Please forgive me,
Thank you
And I love you.
 
Continue saying it, out loud or in your head until it feels better. Believe me, this works.  Yes, you say it in this way even if you feel that all that has happened is the other persons fault.  Interestingly enough, sometimes  people who have offended you come to you with an apology.  It creates a shift.
 
Once you  get rid of anger,  it is a whole new game.   Please do report back.
